Well, well, well look who it is. *takes a long drag from cigarette* Mars Retrograde, we meet again. The last time we experienced Mars Retrograde was in the sign of Gemini. That Retrograde was from October 30, 2022, lasting until January 12, 2023. ~* how was that time for you? *~ Mars goes Retrograde every two-ish years and now we are slowing it down once again, Martian style⊠but this time the Mars Retrograde story is happening in the signs of Leo and Cancer, the Sun and the Moon. âŸđ€ The luminary signs. When I give readings I often remind folks with a lot of strong Cancerian âïž or Leonian âïž placements in their natal charts that they, more than most people, must be so so so so delicate with their energy. If thatâs you, know this: you are the LIGHT, BABY. FOR REAL THOUGH. Iâm sure youâve heard of the term energy vampire? đĄÂŽàœ` The folks that just seem to come out of the woodwork as soon as you get good news. Be warned, Cancers and Leos are energy vampire magnets. The lifeforce-suckers looooove luminary people. Like a moth to the flame đ„ đ€ everybody wants a piece because itâs a glow you canât replicate, you got it or you donât. I donât make the rules, babe, Iâm just calling it like I see it! People feel very seen by you (Cancer-Lunar) or they want to be you (Leo-Solar). Cancer + Leo = star quality. If you donât have Cancer or Leo placements, whatever house Cancer or Leo rules can feel this effect. Itâs the blessing and the curse. Right now weâre all getting a taste of this energy while Mars transits through the luminary signs. This Retrograde means we have a long time to process this next era since Mars remains in the signs of light until spring of next year! Sooo yaaaaahâŠthis Mars Retrograde weâre reflecting on where we are reflecting, in a very literal (light source) sense. From 17° of Cancer to 6° of Leo will be feeling it extra strong. All this light talk reminds us to tap into our spiritual side. In spirituality, we can refer to âthe lightâ as the divine, the ascension, operating from pure love. Working with âthe lightâ asks you to rise above the petty noise and distractions of Earth and drop back into the center of your soul. The light is the power to live and thrive at your highest potential. Let it shine out of you, where itâs for you and not sacrificed for others. Retrograde time = protection mode.
Look, Cancer and Leo can both be demanding divas in their own unique way. They can get swept away in the drama and romance of it all! Mars Retrograde is a regrouping period, that will challenge us to prioritize our goals, refocus on the the personal achievements we have been dreaming of doing for way too long, and give us the space to get our groove back. The ideas and fantasies that have been living in our imagination will get the necessary support they need so by the time Mars Retrograde wraps up, weâll have had the experience to charge forward. The bitch is back.
Some key things to note about this Mars Retrograde is weâre overlapping with Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius until December 15. For a little over a week, we will have two of the three personal planets going through the disorienting backward Retrograde motion. The doubled-up Retro energy, in a Firey Trine between Leo and Sagittarius, is begging us to make different steps toward our goal. If you havenât gotten what you wanted yet, itâs time to experiment because sometimes persistence is key, but not with Fire Retrogradey energy. The Retrograde encourages strategic risks. Thereâs real potential to see something that you never knew was there before.
Retrogrades prompts us to go internal. Mars is our planet connected to courageousness, sexuality, and competition. This winter Retro time, weâre asking ourselves, âwho are we in competition with?â Starting of in Leo, the sign related to the self and ruled by the Sun, the first chunk of this Retrogade will ask us to call a truce with ourselves. Be nice to yourself!!!! Donât talk about my friend that way!!! Itâs time to get right with you and have a realistic convo (with your self) on where you are holding back. When Mars Retrogades back into the sign of Cancer, ruled by the Moon, connected to feelings and nurturing, this supports us redirecting the care back to us. You canât fill from an empty cup. Sometimes you are baby. Whether consciously or subconsciously, Cancer and Leo can give away so much of their vitality if the conditions support it. Next thing they know they donât recognize themselves anymore. Donât worry toots, this is why Retrogrades are GOOD. Their celestial âtime outsâ to get back on track.
