Here come the crabs 🦀 🦀 🦀 🦀 Mars in Cancer starts on September 4, 2024, at 12:46 PM PT and will last until November 3, 2024…with a plot twist! Mars in Cancer will be part of the upcoming Mars Retrograde story (more on that when we get there) so he will return! But not til next year when he Retrogrades back into Cancer on January 6, 2025. So we very well may be dealing with Cancerian Martian matters until May of next year! But don’t dwell on that just yet. We must understand the crab.

Mars is in Fall in Cancer. Not the easiest position. Mars wants to charge forward, while the crab darts side to side. Cancer is our Cardinal Water sign, Cancer energy somehow always ends up in those deep, difficult conversations. Cancers initiate connection. It’s kind of interesting to think of how Mars is also not happy in Taurus, and they Sextile each other, asking one another, why are we working so hard? Who careeeeeees. Symbolically thinking of Taurus as Spring and Cancer as Summer it’s like they know it is too nice outside to do anything meaningful. Gemini sits between them, socializing, gossiping, and chatting. There’s nothing else to do but loaf around with your people.

Folks with Mars in Cancer are often underestimated. Their greatest challenge in life is to not take things personally. While we have this extra-long stay with Mars in Cancer in 2024/2025 we all are collectively working through our family stories and for some, family trauma. Cancer energy is related to the home, family, safety, and sanctuary. Saturn in Pisces is going to be Trining Mars in Cancer, supporting growth and maturity. We are not our family. Of course, our family tremendously colors our story of self. Everyone’s family dynamic is going to be different. But if yours has been seeping into your psyche and pushing you towards self-destruction, we could see the Crab Mars energy really POP OFF. Maybe you need more. Maybe you need less. Mars is how we seek out our core needs. Cancer Mars just wants love. Don’t take the bait of petty drama. Does it have to be so difficult?

Emotions are high! Everyone may be feeling extra sensitive AF. When Mars is weak, we’re asked to be brave. To stand up for the previous versions of ourselves and who we are now. The crab wears his home on his back. I just Googled “why do crabs have shells?” and the first sentence I saw was, “Crabs have adaptations to help them survive.” Period. What adaptions do you need to survive? The crab formed a hard shell to protect its soft body. This Cancer Mars time could be a great moment to find your armor. Maybe it’s a piece of clothing that makes you feel confident. Maybe it’s a crystal necklace, you hold close during tough conversations. Maybe it’s choosing to interact with someone via email if in-person is too volatile. Protect yourself.
