Mars moves into Taurus tonight at 9:35PM PT. I've been called a "jukebox" before where at any moment the mention of a person, place can remind me of a song. Ingresses of planets are also catalysts for my rotating-playlist-song shuffle brain and with Mars the planet of action, direction, and our innate human drive now in the stable, sensual, earthy sign of Taurus I can't stop singing Drive Slow in my head.
🎶drive slow homie drive slow homie 🎶
While I don't endorse any recent behavior of Ye I had to check his natal chart after thinking of this song and ofc he has natal Taurus Mars (and Mercury, Venus, and Chiron) lol sometimes astrology is just soooo astrology you know?
Taurus Mars does encourage us to take life with a slower pace. It doesn't mind taking the route that's longer time-wise if the views are worth it. Mars will stay in steady Taurus until July 20, 2024 and acts as a grounding force amongst all the current Gemini energy in the sky. Think of Taurus Mars like a lightning rod in an electric storm.
Mars is in its detriment in Taurus, as it prefers to be in Aries, Scorpio, and Capricorn-but similar to the detriment lesson I gave over on the Jupiter in Gemini post, there are pluses and minuses to when a planet is not in its most savory sign.
Let's get to the cons first cuz that's how the Taurus way would want it: no bullshit (did I just sneak in a pro point?)
Mars in Taurus energy can be an unmovable stone. On the low end we could see general laziness as a disassociation method, overindulgence in our vices, and having trouble getting traction on initiatives. Those are all real possibilities when Mars is in Taurus and why we use astrology, because the more you know the astrology weather the easier we can navigate life here on Earth.
On the plus side: the slower pace may be a welcome treat! Gemini has had everything moving so fast and now the days are getting longer, literally as we're on our way to summer in the northern hemisphere and philosophically with the Taurus Martian energy. Taurus Mars can also be a time to get reconnected with our body and senses. It values a home cooked meal, the physical touch with your date in the back of a car, going to see art and music that inspires your own imagination. With Mars in Taurus we are here to take it IN. Taurus, naturally a Venus sign, adds the emphasis for love and connection so this could also be a fabulous moment to get to matters of the heart. You may be more driven in the coming weeks by Venus’s desires.
Taurus Mars also evokes the word: selective. Mars in Taurus time may see you more selective with your time and energy. To quote Beyoncé, "I'm stingy with my love oooh baby" I love that lyric because she's not saying there's no love, she's just stingy with it. She's selective. Tauruses know how to ~curate~ and with Mars in the sign of the Bull we are encouraged to refine and elevate where we are investing. Is the juice worth the squeeze?
I say this phrase all the time and I guess it's a quote from a Mormon motivational speaker lol which I didn't know until I looked it up just now...it always just sounded like something one of my Midwestern family members would say BUT ANYWAYS the phrase is "inch by inch life's a cinch" It's so Taurus Mars! The follow up to the phrase is "yard by yard life is hard" 🫨 Focus on what's in front of you. Astrology wise this energy is best for tackling the task at hand. The bird's eye view might have you overwhelmed. Progress, even in small doses, is still progress after all.
Enjoy the fruits of your labor and get planting those new seeds 🪴 If you are interested in getting a reading my June booking calendar is here: https://astrologywithstevie.as.me/
