recalibrating libra’s scales ⚖️
She’s home! She’s home! Venus is back in the sign she adores, lovely Libra! Venus ingressed into Libra at 6:22AM PT on August 29, 2024 and will stay in her home sign until Sept 22! While Venus is in a position she enjoys, there is another player in this Venus story that may create some tension to the usual lovey-dovey nature of Libra Venus. The South Node is also in Libra at this time, recalibrating Libra’s scales. Let’s get into Libra’s aura.
Libra energy is visual. 👁️ Libras are naturally gifted when it comes to design and aesthetics. Alongside its friend Taurus, they are both ruled by Venus. Venus rules over matters related to love, beauty, money, and our deepest wishes. When Venus is in Libra, she wants to build a beautiful life. Libra is the sign connected to relationships, she plays well with others. Venus in Libra time is fantastic for letting romance flourish, allowing creativity to flow without judgment, and socializing with your best friends until the sun comes up.
For the first half of Venus’s stay in Libra, she’ll be connected to the South Node, also in Libra. The nodes of the moon, which change signs every 1.5 years, determine where we experience the eclipses. They always work as a pair, so when the South Node is in Libra, the North Node is in Aries.
The South Node symbolizes realms of the past and stories we are currently releasing. With the South Node in Libra, we are all collectively letting go of some Libra tendencies that are no longer serving us. Now hear me out: we’ll always love Libra. She’s hard not to love. But where the South Node currently sits, for its year-and-a-half stint, points us to behaviors, patterns, people, or situations that need adjustment. It doesn’t mean we’ll never do Libra things ever again, but at this point in time honoring an Aries-focused approach may best serve our overall mission. The questions being brought up are: does this work for me? Would this [insert relationship, business, friendship here] function if I wasn’t leading?
So now Venus, who’s been ruling the South Node in Libra, is aligned with Libra Venus and we need a cleanse. The last time we had this alignment was in November 2023. What was going on in your world then? Did you feel in harmony with the Venusian parts of your life? While the South Node and Venus are together, hand in hand, a simpler question is posed: can love stand on its own?
Love can give and provide so much, and Libra can tend to unconditional love practices. But Libras are here to learn that there are conditions. There are rules! There are boundaries! Expressed expectations that must be met. Libra rules over contracts. Where have the contracts been breached? Which contracts are up and which do you want to extend? While they crave keeping the peace, they are here to be the judge and deliver a verdict. Libras are the scales of justice, my goddddddd can’t we see it?!?! Can they feel it????
In astrology, we often work against the lessons of the signs, that’s why it’s so important to reflect and discuss what they need us to examine when they come back around. Libra is a lover, but she’s not here to suffer fools. A Cardinal sign, she’s no doormat. While stereotypically Libras can be stuck in indecision, the path will become much clearer in September. Words have to match the actions. Actions have to match the words. If you have been feeling recently unsatisfied, whether in love, friendship, or business, I have no nicer way to say it Libran folks (sorry ily): GET SATISIFIED.

Libra is our only sign represented by an inanimate object. But you are not an object. You’re a human, with a heart. You will win and you will lose. You are not a prize, you’re an ever-changing person. It’s not too late to recalibrate.
I do not mean for any of this message to feel daunting, because ultimately there is freedom in all of this upheaval. These next few weeks the space will be made to love even more, to dream bigger, and get back to the drawing board. You are the architect, creating the vision.
